Two Questions
(c) 2005 Brian Madison
Is it better to be good because you're forced to?
Or is better to be good because you choose to?
These are questions that can take some gettin' used to
These are questions you should really give some thought to
Ask your mullah, ask your priest, or ask your pastor
Ask your rabbi 'cause we're headin' for disaster
Ask your shrink, and ask your friends and politicians
Take a poll because we're goin' answer fishin'
When they're rallyin' for your coerced compassion
And they're shoutin' in a Socialistic fashion
Ask these questions which are good for all occasions
Then say thanks so much, but you prefer persuasion
When they're sayin' that they wanna be your savior
And they're makin' plans to legislate behavior
If you're mindin' your own business ask these questions
And thank the fundies very much for their suggestions
We're from the government, we're here to help you
We think you should comply
No need to go on thinking for yourself, too
Just deny the lie
If you're worried 'cause you're wond'ring how you'll beat 'em
Take a look around, see who's still talking freedom
You can find a few with some determination
Get enough of us and we can change a nation
Is it
better to be good because you're forced to?
Or is better to be good because you choose to?
These are questions that can take some gettin' used to
These are questions you should really give some thought to
